Festival des Architectures Vives de Montpellier 2009

In January 15th, a jury composed of professionals, journalists and former participants of the Festival des Architectures Vives de Montpellier selected 10 teams that will propose interventions in the exterior spaces of a number of mansions in the center of Montpellier. The Festival will offer an architectural promenade through the heart of the city, connecting 17th century private mansions and their gardens, normally exclusive to its occupants.

The Festival’s goal is to open these emblematic spaces to the general public and, thanks to the intervention of teams of young architects, present unique architecture works, designed for a specific site and revealing a close relationship with contemporary architecture and historical heritage.

The ten selected teams were the following:

[C]CUT ARCHITECTURES (Benjamin Clarens + Yann Martin)

Julien Pinard + Sophie Gueritee + Cécile Ccobelle + Antonio Di Bacco

KLNB ARCHITECTES (Keeyong LEE + Nenad BASIC)

Isabelle Guillon +Maëla Thierry

Julie Neuwels + Axel Cailteux + Céline Hauftenne + Delphine Termote

Leah Nanpei + Koko Hovaguimian

FLEX ARCHITECTURE (Julien Bonnot+ Mélanie Gerbail)

ALCMEA (Antoine Lacaze + Charles Mantoux)

ATELIERMOB (Andreia Salavessa +Tiago Mota Saraiva)

YVES ROLIN

An 11th spot will be attributed to the guest school of the Tohoku University Architecture Department (Sendai, Japan), where the intervention will be created by a group of students oriented by the professors Masahige Motoe and Tohru Horiguchi.
